Messers may be apt.
Simon Ibbotson is phoning around trying to get agents. Someone out there has come up with a correlation between him & Malcolm Knowles.
I spoken to one of his many Ex Agents earlier today, and they are dropping like flies. Seems he lost a load of agents when MFI went under.
His pedigree is/was, he was an old boss from Expert Appliance Care and it has been rumoured that he may have been instrumental in their demise.
A.N.S. pay £38 per call, after taking £6 handling fee, and parts are at cost. 80{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} of work is integrated. The agent will also be responsible for p&p.
So I guess we may know what Mr Knowles is up to.
Will post a very naive looking open question in the trade forums and see what happens?

Well, you can ask in person as he is attending the Coventry meeting, Knowles that is as well as an ex-buyer for MFI. 😉
It should be a very interesting indeed and the more the merrier as they say.
Ian has prodded me to do some PR for it, but, there’s a way to do it and a little patience is required to achieve maximum exposure.

Only for in here as if it gets out it wil come back to me ,heard that there is mfi work going through ANS again including laundry ,I thought that JTM had picked it up ,also chatting to my local ANS guy who mentioned that he was speaking to a Comet engineer who said they are doing some as well…

Simon called last week and after some thought we have agreed to do some work for him, so far we have done about 7 jobs all ex MFI laundry and dishwashers.
The deal is £39 per call and spares at cost +10{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} which works in our favour as most of the machines we have saw so far are Whirlpool and the spares cost price is worked out on Andy Willey’s cost + 10{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d}. I can buy the spares from Whirlpool at about 20{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} less than andy sells them.
I also asked the question regarding postage and was told to add postage at cost to any invoices. He is also accepting our own invoices which saves some time as i can PDF invoices straight from the system.
No mention of gas calls or F&P products which I would expect to get a lot more for so I will wait and see if one comes in.

We put AIG on stop last summer, they were 3 Months behind on their payments, so we would only do the work on a pay & claim basis at FULL chargeable to the customer.
Once we got paid by AIG for the outstanding, we “forgot” to re-open their account.

I spoke to AIG on Wednesday and they have promised to pay any outstanding for old MFI work on the next payment run this coming week. I will let you know if we do get paid.

Anyone know what these are like now? I guess Malcom Knowles is part of this.
Reason I ask, Ibbotson is sniffing around my patch looking for a repairer. May be a way of getting rid of some MFI bits.

Somone did put in the trade forums that Knowles is not part of this.
I bumped into Ibbotson and he handed me a card, saying he can put some work my way. I shan’t be phoning him, as that is not how I do things, but I’m interested to know if Kosher. I seem to recall he has a bit of a reputation, but it may be historical.
