I have an APM 6325 larder fridge from MFI (9 years old); it has no freezer compartment.

For the last 4 or 5 years it has been holding a temperature which seems to vary between 7.5 and 10.5 C, with no pattern I can see, just colder some weeks/months than others. It is unresponsive to the adjustable power level setting. Also the light bulb doesn’t work but I don’t care about that and assume that it doesn’t matter (does it?). The fridge operates (ie there is an intermittent fridge type noise!) and the fan under the fridge comes on every now and then.

So far I’ve lived with this and not kept food until its “use by” date, however I’d like to get it fixed if possible to avoid the considerable expense of a new integrated fridge!

    Could the thermostat be responsible?

If there’s a significant change it might fix the problem I’d be willing to try. Would it be easy to fit? I read somewhere on the forums that it might be behind the light on this model. I took of the cover and removed the bulb but it was less obvious how to go deeper!

Is there an instruction manual or diagrams somewhere on how to replace the thermocouple and show where it is located? Would it be easy or tricky for a novice? (I’m not a fridge engineer)

    Cheers, Pierre

If it’s more than 5 years old has it ever been removed from fittings/cupboard and pipework/condenser cleaned, after that sort of time it’s likely it’s blocked with dust and fluff.
Switch off at mains release screws that hold it in and pull forward, then get out your vacuum and brush 😕
Try running it for a day or so before putting back into cupboard.
