MFI APM 6825 Frost Free Not Defrosting

Hi there

My MFI brand 6825 frost free fridge freezer has started to ice up in the freezer section. This is usually around the edges and bottom of the fins/pipework with a hard ice as opposed to “frosty” ice. Everything else is working fine, i’m just having to defrost it every few months due to it losing efficiency and food no longer freezing.

I suspect either the thermistor or if there is a thermal fuse then this might have gone due to dodgy defrosting mechanisms (ie, hairdryer).

Any way that i can test to find out what is actually the problem, and anyone know where i can get parts for this freezer?

Hi Mark,

I’m not familiar with the model too much but it sounds like either a PCB or thermistor failure.

Spares are easily obtainable for all MFI/Hygena/Diplomat, just drop Dave a line on spares@ukwhitegoods.co.uk
