Had a very long conversation with Chris at JVF (who make the parts disc) about the situation with the disc eventually expiring, he assures me that they will run ok until the end of March 09 and they are aware that repairers will still require the info after that.

Hopefully they come up with some sort of licencing for the disc after that date but it is early days yet ref MFI folding and they are still awaiting info from the Administrators regarding copyright etc to the info on the disc.

I will keep you all informed as Chris will get to me when he has more solid info to pass on.

    Thanks Dave.

I do have some concerns as to the disk, a lot of parts we can still get through Smeg or Beko, and the hardest bit will be getting the part numbers as per the model number.

That was exactly my point to Chris today, once he realised how important the info was regarding sourcing spares from SMEG, Stoves, Beko etc he really then understood our problem.

I’m sure JVF will come up with a solution so we don’t lose the ability to cross reference part numbers.
