Hi there, our Electrolux built-in microwave oven has just packed in. I really doubt it’s worth a repair after 10+ years of heavy daily use so want to look for a replacement. Just wondered if the standard advice for appliance (e.g. German – Bosch/Siemens etc is best) applies for microwaves, or if there are better places to look? Likewise, any to avoid like the plague? Many thanks
Honestly, it makes little to no odds.
Most will be made by Galanz, Sharp, LG, Samsung or Panasonic and rebadged. Maybe spec’d up differently but other than that, all much of a muchness.
Bosch, Neff and Siemens are all the same products under BSH and they don’t make microwaves, just buy them in badged up like everyone else. The low volumes and huge cost of a line to produce them makes it not commercially viable to do much else.
