Miele/AEG/Electrolux/Zanussi microwave door lock hook catch

I have a Miele M637 microwave and the plastic door lock striker, the part on the door that enters the lock mechanism, has snapped off. This part is the same as fitted to some AEG, Electrolux and Zanussi models and is AEG part number ES634612. Does anybody know how to replace it? The part is available and not expensive, but it looks like the inner and outer door parts have to be separated to get to the sprung latches before it will come out. I have tried to prise the inner panel away but was close to breaking the plastic with no sign of movement. No visible fixings. What’s the trick?

the door parts are clipped together and i use a small scraper and work it around inbetween the two parts but i wouldnt advise it as a diy job particually as it needs microwave leak testing afterwards
