    Re: Miele belt squeak

    Hi Steve.

these are FANTASTIC…..made of special high modulus unobtanium, you will be able to transfer it to successive machines for your whole life….of course, they’re quite dear
    …..about £900…..and that’s why Miele didn’t fit one…cos your washer would have cost £1400

this machine DID have a retail cost of £1400.. 😛 Sooo where’s my Boody “high modulus unobtanium” belt. 😕

manufacturers know that machines are used..”not for just looking pretty in the corner” Like a lot of the top of the range cookers end up doing. 👿 .

I want my new washing machine 😡 I think I will get Philuk onto this. 😈

Oh dear! Bryan, what can I say! 😮 I’m told these people can spot a mug a mile away….but I think that if you can afford the service , you should get it!

It’s a bit of a bugger about the belt, I didn’t realise you had had your hat nailed on so hard….SHEESH!////you could have got a big ISE 10 …AND a ISE5 for that money….
I think your wife should do the shopping in future (unless she’s a dizzy blonde…in which case i might be able to educate her)

Really, the nevva nevva ware WOULD solve your problems, but it’s an ADDITIONAL £900-ish you’ll have to shell out.

a mere bagatelle, IMO-especially if you’re in up to the taters for 1400 😛

errrm, you been to Tesco’s aven’t you?….it’s a belt, silly…to fit your miele! not a new appliance, just a low-modulus Unobtanium belt.

I know it was a bargain, but you shouldn’t get greedy with the Bells.

    Hi Steve..

you dont seem to get it !!

I paid a lot of money for this machine and I would not expect to have to pay out for a repair within 10yrs.

The belt should have been designed and made to last. Thus this breakage is making the appliance NOT FIT FOR PURPOSE.

But it isn’t a breakage – more of a bit of stretching……… :duck:

    Hi Chris

Mrs R has been really offwended with your statement. 😳

To be fair, the belt is probably made of better materials than other, lesser, brands. However, given the size of your family and the volume of laundry generated, plus the Mrs’ habit of loading it to the gunnells with a ramrod, the rate of wear may well be accelerated to a point where we could consider that the machine has been abused.

We only have 12 children and twins on the way.. 😛 In no place written or implied that if purchasing this appliance you are only to have 2.3 children.

How do we know the tub is turning correctly when I hear it slipping like a cod on the docks.

    Re: Miele belt squeak

I do apologise, no offence was intended in any way.

The manufacturers define “Family Use” as 5 loads a week, so you are definitely over-using the machine, which in turn may jeopardise any warranty arguement you may have with the firm.

I have to say that the failure to actually discuss the issue, rather than just repeating “I want a new one”, is hardly adding to the quality of the debate amongst the members trying to help you.

    Regards,
    Penguin45.

    Hi chris

i appologise for stating that ” I want a new one ” But I assumed that if I shouted loud enough and long enough and ignored anything that was advised from the trade I would be given one.

Isnt that my rights ?.Its not down to me to prove defective is it ?.

    P.S. Wait till Mrs R get’s you 😈

Consumer Rights Myths or how the law works in reality not a flight of fancy of how people THINK it works.

But My Old Machine Lasted 20 Years!

    Both obviously required reading. 😉

Bryan…it seems we had crossed wires…..my goodness!..it wasn’t the bells that got you in a fix…sounds more like the bell end!

Stroll on! 12 kids and increasing!….have you thought that poor little overworked miele may not actually have been made to do a huge amount like that?

Chris was quite right!- If you’d bought your washer in a part of the world where big families are the norm (well, more like small communities, than big families)
you would have got a jocking great thing like a 50 gallon oil drum.

Be thankful you didn’t buy a Chinese made one!….They are only allowed one kid, so washers are made for 3 people’s laundry….and China is nearer the equator than us, so they only need flimsy light clothes….see how long one of them lasts doing umpteen sets of harris tweed underpants every week !

get the miele man in……for a quick bodge you could spray some WD40 on the belt. It won’t stop it slipping, but you won’t hear it squealing.

    Hi Steve

Sooo Its now wrong for a man to have his nuptuals more than 2.3 times in his lifetime now.. 😡

Your just jealus cos me an Mrs R have a generous night time. 😮

Did king henry have this problem with all his kids and wives..No so why should I ❓

At least I dont bring the washing from my ex wifey’s as well to do at home else its another 4 kids worth. :rolls:

It still doesnt state that its only to be used for a family of 2.3 children and this machine wasnt built in china or for the chinese market. 😡

no, not at all..may I suggest you nip into the barber shop (no need to wait for a haircut) just ask him for “something for the weekend” Wink the small charge will save you a fortune, trust me.

Your just jealus cos me an Mrs R have a generous night time. Surprised

Ha Ha…My dear friend Mrs palm , is very acomodating and doesn’t saddle me with 14 sprogs or a mountain of washing!

Did king henry have this problem with all his kids and wives..No so why should I Question

‘Cos he had servants and didn’t have to fork out £1400 for a washer Razz besides, he was a king and you’re not

-my ex once told me I was a four king idol but she didn’t say which ones worshiped me.

It still doesnt state that its only to be used for a family of 2.3 children and this machine wasnt built in china or for the chinese market. Mad

obviously you HAVE been at the Bells ,otherwise you’d work out that you don’t really get .3 of a kid unless you’re a Whitehall pen-pusher .
2.3 kids and 2 parents (ok, I know that 2 parents together is a bit unusual nowadays)..is 4.3 people’s washing a chinese family is only 3 people cos they’re allowed only 1 kid per couple.

Anyway, Mr Penguin (I like the milk chocolate ones) told you that 5 loads a week is average -It sounds like your missus has been getting a lot more than that , with 12 kids and 2 in the oven.
you’re running a private launderette there Idea put a coin-op one in and you will be a rich man in no time Cool 🙂

    GENTLEMAN!

You are supposed to be setting an example here, & upholding the high standards of courtesy and decency we have come to expect from you. Have you no-shame?
I don’t particulary want to hear about bell-ends, who’s getting what 6 times a night, especially as I am not getting any at the moment!!!!

Now let us all go and have a cup of tea!

    Steve

Thank you for your comments but wait till I get hold of you ! 😈

I tried the WD40 on the belt and now all I have is a kitchen full of smoke..And I dont even smoke(not even the wacky backy). :colour:

The machine isnt even turning over now and sqeaking is the least of my problems. :shake2: have you tried to wash 5 kids worth of nappies in the bath :shake: .

You now need to come round and sort this mess youve got me in.
