    Hello,

I’m hoping someone can help me narrow down what the possible fault with my 6yr old Miele G 4100 dishwasher could be.

I’ve never had any problems with it until a few weeks ago, when the inlet / drain light would occasionally come on. I cleaned the base filter, non-return valve and drain pump, and usually the machine would get going again. However, I decided to use Miele’s dishwasher cleaner (thinking it hadn’t been done for a while), and since then things have been worse, which leads me to think it has dislodged gunk somewhere in the system which is now causing problems.

When I switch the machine on, I can hear the drain pump kick in, then there is a trickling, gurgling sound as it fills, then a switch sound and the inlet / drain light comes on. If I open the machine, it has filled with water up to the level of the handle of the base filter combination. If I switch the power off then on again, the drain pump comes on and it drains. So, I’m assuming it fills and drains ok, so is the problem with the circulation pump & motor?

I’ve pulled the machine out to check the inlet and drain hoses at the back – they don’t appear to be kinked. If I tip the machine forward or back no water comes out and there are no leaks.

Can anyone advise the next steps I should take please, or any idea what the likely problem is?

    Many thanks!
