ParticipantMiele Dishwasher G1143 SC – inlet(?) banging + Inlet / Drain lamp warning
I’d hoped my intermittent problem, raised previously, had been fixed by a local person I found on a trade rating website. But it’s now come back every time I try to start a dishwasher wash cycle. As I hear water flow, presumably being drawn in, and just after the start of a wash cycle a bang noise happens after about 7 seconds. The water flow stops, starts again and the loud bang happens another 7 seconds or so. I can hear it upstairs in my house. The Infill / Drain button light flashes red continuously. After maybe 30 minutes, the machine gives up trying so I’m left with a machine full of dirty plates and the soap dispenser flap remains closed.
So I plan to replace the Aquastop inlet hose with its in-line valve from Whitegoods. From Electrolux / Dave’s previous reply I appreciate I won’t know if the existing Aquastop inlet hose is faulty until I replace it and see if replacement fixes the problem. To replace the Aquastop inlet hose I’ll need to gain access to the bottom of the machine. Space constraints in my kitchen space are tight. As access will be a difficult, I’d rather replace anything else that could possibly be causing the problem at the same time. I’ve already cleaned the filter and all user-accessible parts inside the machine, I’ve already checked the inlet and outlet hoses are not kinked and that the water supply is turned fully on.
Any tips on what else I might replace at the same time – or any other suggestions – would be appreciated.

ParticipantPROBLEM SOLVED: Using the UKWhitegoods’ “Search for an engineer” function, I rang a chap, based in London E16, yesterday. He came later the same day, spending about an hour fixing the problem. My dishwasher now works perfectly. No replacement parts were required – so I didn’t waste money on replacing something that turned out to be OK. The engineer said the issue was due to:
– a digital sensor needed cleaning re-setting and
– the front water level was incorrectPreviously I’d not heard of these as possible faults but, whatever, I am very pleased to have a fully functional, super quiet, machine.
