Miele dishwasher G4300I drain/inlet light flashing

Originally the customer reported the dishwasher worked one day, not the next day.
When we tested it, it will start to fill – stops filling – the inlet drain light starts to flash – then drains – fills – drains.
It continues doing this while the inlet/drain light flashes.
Customer said it sounds different when it is filling.
No water in the base.
Anyone have any ideas?

there should be a reed switch in the inlet counting the water input. i would try that first
