This dishwasher when switched on and a program selected, start button pressed, drain pump operates for a few seconds, stops and starts again and does drain the machine. The drain pump stops and the inlet valve operates for a second then the wash rinse light and the start light go out. The inlet drain light then flashes. There is no water in the bottom of the machine and the drain pump works well. I have tested the inlet valve and connected a fly lead to it to ensure there’s no problem with water intake. Any pointers on this would be much appreciated, I have two of these machines in my workshop with the same fault!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 😕

Im no miele expert but have you checked flowmeter? I think its the same as a whirlpool adp8332.

Is the wash motor impellor clear? I can’t remember all the model numbers that I have to deal with or their fault sequence but have seen it many times where the wash impellor is semi blocked with detergent wrappers or the like and the inlet light flashes after a very short while.

Many thanks for the response, I have changed the flow meter. I will have a look at the wash pump today.

Did you find a solution, I have one the same. Well, it’s actually intermitten, which makes matters worse.
Am thinking flow meter or, as it’s 12 years old, broken wires in door?
