Miele Dishwasher G665SC-2

Inspected and found loads of salts ect around the seal of the main motor causing a short to earth. Removed motor to workshop, dried it out and have cleared the earth fault. Great, but the long term leak has caused the alloy to look pretty tired. I separated the pump from the motor and believe that I can get away with just replacing the water seal.The seal is similar looking to the Bosch seal. Is the seal available for this machine?
Is this a feasable repair, ” i’m trying to be green”, or am I asking for problems?
Any idea on the cheapest place to buy a new motor from as i know connect are never the cheapest supplier. Any second hand motor out there?Price of new motor from Connect is £212 plus vat.

Motor (complete unit) listed for that machine is Part Num’ 4998104 @ £187.40 +v.a.t off Miele

The pump section is available as a separate, Part num’ 5100732 @£43.66,
but i believe the seal you need is @ the motor bearing?
correct me if i’m wrong, seal where pump pushes onto sump of machine is also available

THE SEAL ON THIS PUMP IS A CERAMIC AND RUBBER SEAL….JUST REPLACE IT…ITS EASY AND A GOOD REPAIR…

yes it is the ceramic/rubber seal on the motor shaft. It looks similar to a bosch seal but do Miele sell the correct one and do you know the part number? thanks.

DONT KNOW PRT NO…BUT YES THEY DID SELL THIS PART SEPERATLY WHEN i WORKED FOR THEM.

tried fitting the similar Bosch seal but found slight sign of water. Also motor going to earth again due to the dampness which is making me think that the insulation on the windings has been damaged due to long term effect of the detergent and salts that have built up on the alloy and windings.
I’m still in the market for a second hand motor or finding the genuine Miele seal as customer wont spend over £200 on a new motor.

ALL Miele components have a T.no printed, moulded, engraved, stuck on them – this is the part number.

TEIL. 4493460 IS THE NUMBER ON THE PLATE IT ALSO HAS 79341209. TYP MPE31-62/2. THE PUMP HOUSING HAS PPGF30

Although the seal is shown on the diagram you can’t order it seperately (according to the diagram anyway), it comes with the pump housing – part number 5011732 😉

been in contact with Miele who e mailed me the picture of the motor ect. although the motor is split up into different parts only the complete motor is available part number 5000814 at £175plus vat. I then spoke to someone in the technical department who said that the pump housing is available part number 5011732. I feel sure that the seal in quesion is available, Bosch and Siemens have a similar seal, but where to find it?
