This machine fills, circulates for a few minutes then stops and indicates an inlet/outlet fault. When the programme is re-started it pumps out ok. Is this a control unit fault or is there something else I should be looking for?

    Thanks

could be the high pressure pressure stat, clips onto the circ pump. either blocked or faulty. If the timer doesnt recieve a signal from it within a few seconds of the pump starting up. it aborts.

Could be as simple as inlet filter on water pipe blocked, or flow meter problem.
Most likely the level switch not getting enough pressure of water, this can because machine did not fill with enough water to bring on pressure switch or that there is an obstruction in the circulation pump.

will be the leakproof system…tilt the machine sideways and see if water comes out from tray area…Fidder

Dont know, he does say it runs for a few minutes before failing so would discount the leak theory.

If you re-start the programme after it’s gone into fault mode, exactly the same thing happens; it pumps out, re-fills , runs for two or three minutes and locks out again. So it doesn’t sound like water in the base, as I assume it wouldn’t re-fill in that situation. The customer has had Miele or a Miele agent round who has diagnosed it elecronically as a pcb fault but I’m not totally convinced. He didn’t open it up to test or inspect any internal components.

Roly he shouldn’t have to open it up!
Most Miele engineers should be competant enough to enter service mode & see fault codes which should help in pinpointing cause of failure.
One of these would say “float switch activated” if theres water in base, if you get my jist.
