ParticipantMiele G653SCVI plus dishwasher. Water has leaked onto the heater relay 05008870 (smoking) underneath the dishwasher from a loose side vent. Spent a fortune on a new relay from Miele to find that when the dishwasher is switched on energises heater relay permanently with no water in it so has activated resettable TOC’S. Pulled out PCB and found the following transistor with the front blown off.
ST CHN
T4
1060
E18104
Can anybody help with the sourcing of it as i am desperate and do not have an account with RS or Farnell. Thanks

Hi Simon, It sounds to me like a 4 amp Triac
Does it look like THISOctober 6, 2010 at 4:47 pm #332219Simon46
ParticipantRe: Miele dishwasher PCB transistor blown up
Yes looks similar. I have one off a beko dishwasher pcb that is
ST E3
T4
1060
CC10K623.
What do you think?October 6, 2010 at 5:14 pm #332220Martin114

Not sure what the difference would be Simon but it sounds like a similar device.
Another problem may be that the circuitry that drives the triac gate may have been damaged if the original triac has blown apart.October 6, 2010 at 5:37 pm #332221Simon46

Just noticed one of the 8 triacs on the board is not connected to anything. Might try to change it across see what happens. strange it energises the 240V relay. Would think that it wouldnt give anything out.

Marvelous little things. Switching amps of current at mains voltage using little more than halve a volt and very little current at it’s gate terminal!

Ta mate. One more question. If i fit PCB then it requires new one does the new pcb have to be configured? I assume by Miele if so? They say not.

Wel done Simon46,
nice to hear of good old engineer fixes to pcbs at component level.
Bob.
