miele dishwasher sticking

heats to desired temerature, thermostat switches, heater goes off and then it just keeps washing, temerature drops and it will not advance past one point on the timer, even though the timer motor is running and its making all the right noises. just click it past that point manually and it finnishes the cycle ok. “has this machine got some sort of heater stop solinoid on the timer and if so why will it not release !”.
any help would be great.

Points towards a faulty timer, there are NTCs on some of these early machines that i’d look at or resettable overheat switches, not the type with the reset button but one that resets after it has cooled down.

Take a look at those first, most problems i’ve had with these machines have been caused by poor water pressure & heater stopping because pressure dropped, by overfoaming sometimes.

thanks seamy, it is looking like the timer fault, i did change one of the stats that i thought was at fault but its still the same.
