I need a tub shell gasket for a Miele WT945 00/47920152. Is there an alternative to the genuine Miele one at €200 please ??

Re: Miele door seal
Seems to be a common problem with Miele these days. It’s been discussed here before. I managed to patch one torn lip up a few months back and it’s still going strong. Did it as a stopgap while I sourced a cheaper seal but they were happy to stick with it as no cheaper seal forthcoming. Superglue is remarkably effective. Really can’t remember the full detail of how I did it but I think it was a combination of glue, new piece cut from cheap surplus seal of similar curve and perhaps a bit of overlapping material. It was suggested that the problem is caused by the new wide doors allowing clothing to flop forward and catch between door and lip. Drum starts to rotate and pulls clothing away, ripping seal.
