    Miele Dishwasher
    G1232SC

    Error: F14.

Customer complained of multiple F14 errors and once blowing trip.

First I removed circulation motor and checked impeller for debris, nothing of note.

As far as I understand according to the ‘known error code thread’ F14 = Heat Pressure switch.

I’m familiar with these failing – once had one leak through the diaphragm into the terminal block. However, didn’t notice any leak on this machine upon inspection.

Also, what way are we laying the machine to gain access to the bas panel. I laid it on its RHS and was met with a flood of water from the LHS when i stood it back up.

    Any ideas most welcomed, cheers.

    Also, should add.

After inspecting circulation pump etc, i ran the machine and it completed quick wash (with heat) no problem!

this is from a similar model

If an F14 fault is displayed
With the circulation pump operating after a water intake step, the heater pressure
switch is checked to ensure that sufficient water pressure exists in the wash water
circuit. For this the heating relay must have been activated.
    1. During a heating step the heater pressure switch may have registered no or
insufficient water pressure at the circulation pump.
    a. Check the dispensing of detergent and rinse aid. Excessive foam
development means that the pressure at the heater pressure
    switch will be less.
    b. Check for correct water level within the machine (water level
should be just under the filter arm).
    • If incorrect water quantity is registered, see “Inlet/Drain LED flashes during
    water intake” for troubleshooting steps.
    c. Check the filters for blockage.
    d. Check if circulation pump is defective by performing the following
    steps:
    1. Open the dishwasher door and insert your Miele bypass tool
    into the latching mechanism.
    2. Turn on the dishwasher and select a wash program.
    3. After the 30 sec. draining step, pay attention to the lower spray
arm. As water enters the cabinet the circulation pump should
be operating, increasing the water flow pressure. You should
begin to see a small flow of water coming out of the lower
    spray arm.

    hope it helps

    Great thanks guys.

I’ll update the thread if I get called back to it, which i suspect i will.

    Had another update from the customer which read;

“Started machine, tripped in 3 minutes.
Started again after resetting circuit breaker. Didn’t trip, didn’t fill, eventually showed F14, no water in machine.”

I’m visiting it again this week.

And, yes Dave. After I inspect the circulation pump for debris, and the heat pressure switch for signs of leak, i ran the machine and it functioned perfectly, including filling correctly and heating.

Hopefully it faults whist I’m there this time, as that’ll help me deduce what’s what!

    Cheers.

    SOLVED:

Heat pressure switch (internal diaphragm) leaking causing the short and F14. The terminals were wet after running the machine and getting it to trip.

    Many thanks all.
