    I have a Miele K851 iD fridge. I have acquired it second hand but the fridge door will not close. It goes so far, until about 50 mm away from close and then offers a resistance. Yes I can push it shut from there, but is springs back open. There does not seem to be much adjustment possible on the hinge. Is it a hinge or magnet problem? Should I replace the hinge? Do I have to use the Miele hinges ( about £80 each on line ) or are there alternatives? The freezer next door, with the same hinges, seems to work fine….I can’t see anything wrong, but there again, I don’t know what I am looking for!

    Check to see if any of the door shelfs are touching the main shelfs or if the main shelfs are fitted correctly and not touching the door when you close it.

    Easy way..

    remove all the shelves and salad trays and then try to close the door. If it closes then refit the shelves one at a time.
