ParticipantHi,
I have a Miele Fridge Freezer (KFN 8462 S Index 20D 164) and the freezer doesn’t seem to be getting up to temperature (fluctuating but never really going lower than -9).
So I was looking to just get some part numbers for the following:
Evaporator Sensor
Temperature Sensor
Thanks for any assistance

KeymasterMiele spares or at least, most of them, you can only get from Miele now as they have stoped third parties getting access to parts as well as info now so, you’re at their mercy completely.
As we reported here:

ParticipantThanks for the response, I didn’t realise Miele had done that.
I have found the number for the Freezer thermostat as it’s a Liebherr part anyway and ordered that from Ebay, just need the Evaporator number and then I can see if one of those is on Ebay too.

ModeratorI have in the past taken the Miele part number and had a Google. Sometimes it does work, the part number is usually printed on the part itself.

ParticipantAssume the compressor is cutting out before it gets down to temperature, as if it’s running continuously and is still too warm then it’s more likely to be a refrigeration system fault rather than a sensor or thermostat one?

Participanttubafan, if that was the case wouldn’t the fridge not go to temperature too?
Thanks

ParticipantThe fridge only has to get down to about +3C so I imagine it could attain that even if the freezer can’t get down to -18C.

Yes makes sense. Thanks

ParticipantI would firstly check for any frost build up in the freezer, the issue does not sound like a sensor issue, and both sensor replacements for the freezer air and evaporator are identical, assuming the one bought already is the kit type replacement with crimps and a box. Also check the freezer fan operates, close the door and you should see it slowing down by opening the door and quickly looking at the blades in top centre of rear wall panel.

Tony R – There was a little frost build up but not much at all. I’ll check the fan, although the last time I had a look I could hear what sounded like the fan running until I opened the door then it stops as normal, but it’s definitely not running all the time.
The kit is the proper one with the crimp connectors and box.
I have felt the compressor and it’s pretty warm but not what I would call hot.

ParticipantHi, you really need to remove the rear back panel to check for over icing, any excess will prevent air circulation and hence a high temperature display.

Hi, when I mentioned there was very minor frosting over some parts of the evaporator that was looking at it with the backplate removed.
