Miele KF882 iD Fridge Freezer INTERIOR LIGHT

I had some first rate help with a dishwasher problem recently so now I’m trying the fridge experts!

I walked into my kitchen in the black of night and noticed a faint white light along the top of the fridge door. I haven’t seen it before and the fridge is 4 years old. The door was closed, not slightly open.

Does anyone know whether the interior light switches off when the door is closed? How can I tell whether it does!

Should the door seal stop all light escaping from inside?

There are no obvious signs of a switch but there is a ‘lump’ in the top edge of the door which seems to hide a magnet (it attracts a paper clip) so perhaps there’s a reed relay or similar to switch the lights?

Any expert advice for me please?

While I was researching my problem I saw some questions about whether it’s worth buying Miele. Just thought I’d say that on average less than 1 in 200 queries on these pages relates to Miele fridges – on the face of it this is a pretty good endorsement I’d have thought. This is my first Miele product and the first hint of a problem, so no complaints from me!

Re: Miele fridge – interior light

Ooops! Sorry for wasting your time – the light doesn’t come from the fridge interior, it comes from the fast freeze light and temperature indicating lamps which are along the top of the fridge but outside the sealed area!

So nothing wrong with the interior light as far as I know.

    Have a great tomorrow!
