Miele G 975 SC plus inlet outlet

Hi, I hope someone can help.

We went on holiday and returned a few weeks later and our dishwasher will not work the inlet/outlet just flashes. I noticed on the internet that this appears to be a fairly common problem with miele dishwashers.

To explain what happens:

I turn the dishwasher on, select a program and then press start.
Firstly the dishwasher drains, it then starts to fill and after about 3 seconds it stops, it then restarts filling for about 3 seconds again, it keeps doing this until it reaches what I assume to be the correct level (about 2.5cm of water across the bottom of the unit) and then nothing. After a period the inlet outlet light starts flashing.

So far I done the following:

Cleaned all filters and hoses
Removed the evacuation pump and cleaned, the non return ball is not stuck
Replaced the thermostat in the base on the unit
Used the miele tool to check that the main pump impeller is free, which it is
Checked the float switch at the base of the unit it is fine
Removed as many electrical connections as I can see from the bottom and refitted them

Any further thoughts, I’m at my wits end, water in flowing in but something is stopping it from producing a continuous flow.

I’m reasonably handy so happy to try most jobs.

I look forward to some ideas.

On the side tank there’s a flow-meter, a wheel spins with the water & a magnet on the wheel should send pulses via a reed switch on the little p.c.b attached, to the circuit board to count the amount of water that has filled. If the wheel is not turning or the p.c.b has moved to far away it may not be picking up the pulses.
