Miele G1182SCVi Dishwasher door latch

I needed to clean the drain one way valve and to check if it drained OK. After cleaning I (perhaps stupidly) used a screwdriver to latch the door while it was open.

I now cannot get the door to unlatch so cannot close the door.

Miele suggest it needs a service cal, but I’m sure it should be an easy fix.

Questions:-
– Is there an easy way to unlatch the catch? No amount of prodding, poking or pushing has done the trick
– It is an integrated model therefore if I need to remove the cover, firstly how do I remove the kitchen unit door to get to the dishwasher casing as I cannot see how the false door is connected.

1 do you have to press a button to open the door or just pull

a) just pull :- find an old wire coathanger and cut about 12 inches off it. bend one end in a loop ( to stop you poking your eyes out) the other end bend the last quarter inch at 90 degrees. with a bit of luck there is just enough room to get it in the door hook and pull it forward into the open position

b) if you have a button to open the door. do the same as above but as you pull push the button

Thanks Dave, but no luck.

The dishwasher does not have an open button and leveraging something behind the latch does not open it.

I’m hoping there is someone out there with Miele specific knowledge.

Fixed,

It did just need a piece of 90 degree coat hanger to pull the latch back out. I was looping the wire around the whole latch at first and it should be looped only around the first plastic part of the latch.
