Miele G1222SC F70 error

I have a Miele dishwasher intermittently showing an F70 code. I understand this may be something to do with the float switch. The code is accompanied by the pump running continually. I have tried running hot washes and using cleaning powders but the problem keeps coming back. Any other suggestions before calling maintenance, please?

Depending on how competant you are, its a bottom plate removal job to check for a leak thats causing the float switch in the base to be activated. Power off before attempting any repairs of course. It will continue to run the drain pump so long as there is water in the base.

Thank you for this but although I am pretty competent at most things mechanical, the machine is still under warranty and it sounds as though this might be the right time to call Miele – unless there is anything else I might try first?

Thanks Martin it was more that I didn’t want to call out an engineer if there was something relatively straightforward that I could try myself without voiding the warranty – such as the hot wash or dishwasher cleaner examples. I’ll give Miele a call tomorrow.
