I was asked to look at one of these dishwashers as there was no power to it, turned out that the socket had been turned off…

However I was running the thing to make sure it was OK when it started making intermittent loud popping noises with a burning electrical smell.

Firstly any ideas about the noise? I’m assuming there’s something dripping on an electrical connection as it wasn’t the loud crack of a capacitor.

More importantly how the hell do I get into this thing? The outer casing is one piece and seems to be riveted to everything. I’ve been at similar looking machines before, but I’ve only needed into the door.

Any help as always is greatly appreciated.

    Thanks

you can get a quite a lot via the service panel under the door ( remove outer door panel gives easier access to screws ) or lay on its side and remove base which is fixed with 4 screws

Thanks, I’ll give that a try.
