    Hello,

    New to this and have done a search but can’t find anyone with the same problem as me!

    We were given a Miele G685 SC dishwasher and it’s been working fine until the other day. It stopped midcycle. There was lots of gunk in the bottom filter so I cleaned it all out. However, 3 horizontal lines show up in the display. I looked in the instruction book and it suggested the following:

    The wash cycle finishes too early
    and three horizontal lines “—” appear
    in the time display.
    Turn the programme selector to
    STOP.
    Switch off the dishwasher with the
    ON/OFF switch.
    After a few seconds:
    Switch on again with the ON/OFF
    switch.
    Select the programme again and
    start.
    If the lines are still visible in the display
    there is a technical fault.
    Please call the MIELE Service Department.
    In certain circumstances you can still
    wash with the “Energy save” programme
    (using hot water) and “PREWASH”.
    As the programme progresses
    the time left is displayed again in the
    time display.

    So I followed all of this, but still nothing. It won’t prewash or use the energy saving selection either. The ‘reactivating’ light does come on, but I’ve left it for about 2 hours and it doesn’t kickstart.

    Any ideas?

    Can be any of 4 faults, F1-F2-F3-F4 each to do with heating cycle, needing a Miele Engineer or one competant to check in service mode which fault it is & to rectify.
    Appliance will run only cold wash programs until fault is repaired.

    The dishwasher won’t run any programs, hot or cold.

    Hi Hellvixen,

    Trouble is that Miele will not release ANY information, service or otherwise, to anyone bar a Miele service engineer and will not allow anyone outside their own engineers to have their diagnostic software either.

    So, we’re as much in the dark about Miele as the people that buy them.

    You’ll just have to pay whatever ransom Miele demand or buy a new machines I’m afraid. 🙁
