Miele G7100SCi 64-105040328 – ‘drain’ error after 30 seconds

I attended this a couple of days ago. Didn’t witness the fault whilst on site so checked the pump (took it off) and drain line and found nothing that would impede draining. Filled and drained a couple of times without issue and left customer with quick wash (was heating and washing well when I left). They reported back it had completed OK so closed job off.

They’ve then come back to say that the issue has occured again and ‘drain’ appears on the screen. Apparently a program can be started but then within 30 seconds ‘drain’ comes back and the program aborts. I’m pretty sure theres no glass or anything like that in the sump or drain pump mount.

I will re-attend to try and get more info but if there’s any Miele engineers who have more insight into this I’d appreciate some advice.

I re-attended today, drained out the sump, took off the pump cover and ran a program for the drain phase. Sure enough it spat out another piece of glass into the tub! Continued to work OK after that. Looks like ‘drain’ means ‘drain’!
