ParticipantI bought a defective Miele G7859 dishwasher some while back and have just got around to trying to fix it; I believe it’s very similar to the more common G7855 etc models.
Showing error code F11 – drainage problem. The drain pump looks to have been leaking and I’ll be able to replace that from a box load of secondhand spare that are on their way. But I’m fairly sure the heater pressure switch is also defective – presume it should switch at low pressures (to sense a few inches of water), but it doesn’t.
I imagine a new Miele on would cost an unwarranted fortune, so I’m looking for either a secondhand one, or an alternative. It’s made by Bitron (suspect most are) and it’s a 760 model – also has 1500/700 written on which, I guess, denotes the switching pressures. It looks VERY similar to this one :

Any help / advice would be very gratefully received.
Thanks

The pressure switch needs quite high pressure to ativate it actually, its activated by the high water pressure when the circulation pump starts. After the appliance drains for a while it starts the circulation pump to check if theres water left or not, if pressure activates the switch it runs the drain pump a while longer. F11 can be a heater relay problem too but its generally a drain poblem.

Thanks Seamy
I’m hoping the pressure switch is defective; I blew into it hard which didn’t provoke any switching – hope I blew hard enough! Anyway, I’ve ordered a v similar used pressure switch plus a couple of other bits. Currently feeling quite optimistic about getting it working!

Blowing in to it will not normally operate the switch unless you are an elephant. It needs high pressure, would’nt advise putting “similar”, used or s/h spares in any appliance.
