I have a Miele W911 1600 rpm washer that has the following problem: it heats on cold and overheats on normal programs. Excessive heat has already deformed the front panel on the soap drawer. I’ve already tried changing the heater relay and the thermostat but it still has the same problem. This machine is fully electronic so I’m starting to think it may be a blown circuit somewhere. Does anyone have any experience with such a problem on this or similar Miele models?

Not sure of that model, guess its different in your country. When you say changed the thermostat do you mean temp sensor/NTC? its usualy built into the heater and most likely the fault. Also check the water level is not too High as this can cause the deformed dispenser problem. If neither, than probably a very expensive pcb/module.

Sorry, I meant the temp sensor. I’ve changed the temp sensor but it still has the same problem. The problem isn’t just that it overheats on normal wash programs but that it also heats on the cold-wash program, like the heater can’t be shut off. The water level is not too high.

I’m going over the technical diagram, I see the thermostat and something called a thermostop on the index sheet but I can’t see it on the main diagram so I’m assuming that these are components on either the power module or control module. I haven’t worked on too many fully electronic heating systems before 😳 .

My thought as well. However, changing it out with a new one didn’t fix the problem.
