Miele HG03 pump runs continuously

Hi,

My Miele HG03’s pump won’t stop running – even with the power off button powered off (it will only stop when I unplug the machine). It also beeps and flashes it’s lights.

If I remove the filter plate and throw in more water it pumps this out and keeps on running. I’ve cleaned a short metal probe-like thing positioned just under the filter plate (which I figure might be a level probe) but no joy. The non-return is clean too.

Any ideas what this might be?

Found the problem.

Water leaking past the salt container (whose retaining nut had somehow loosened up) ended up in the bottom of the machine. It’s presence was picked up by a safety float and caused the machine to go into pump-out mode.
