So, I managed to sit through an entire intensive wash (with no water intake error and no leak due to reducing water inlet pressure ideally). At no point did the RHS tank drain. When the program finished (after drying) this chamber was filled with water to hat was still like warm.
The machine was marketed (retailer search) as energy saving by pre-heating (presumably rinse water). So, this chamber is definitely akin to the Bosch heat exchange/dump valve system.

That was my take on it although I have not seen one
Machine completed Intensive wash without energising the dump valve solenoid at any time. Wiring loom continuity test was fine. So, fault on control module. GASP!
