ParticipantHi all, first post so go easy on me 😉 I’m posting more out of appliance frustration than anything, but comments/advice welcome. Sorry it’s going to be a long one.
We’ve just suffered 2 years of hassle with a Bosch kgn34x00gb – 2 replacements, 5 engineer visits in all, courtesy extension of warranty for our troubles, blah blah blah.
Anyway, last week when the fridge temperature started it’s regular upwards trend I decided to sack it and order a Miele KFN12924SD which arrived yesterday.
Swapped the doors around then left it standing for 4 hours as per delivery driver (handbook says 2 hours). Plugged it in, all hunky dory. 2 hours later there’s some frost forming at the back of the fridge and the freezer doors are showing signs of frosting.
Leave it over night, come down this morning and the freezer is apparently to temperature (according to it’s own readout), the compressor is still running and the fridge is at 16C 😯
I unplugged it, plugged it back in (good old reboot) – no real idea why but seemed like an idea. Things seem to start working again, frost at the back of the fridge. 30 mins later the freezer temp warning goes off, no more frost at the back of the fridge.
I’ve already called Miele, they didn’t think it sounds normal but can’t get anyoen out to us until the 17th. Called the retailer, they’re calling back tomorrow when there’s someone to deal with it – during the course of the call is when things appeared to be back on track.
As things stand fridge temp is 10C. Temp warning light is still flashing. This is probably a daft question but is it faulty 😆
And assuming we get a replacement, what’s the normal time for temps to have stabilised throughout (fridge and freezer)?
This really is painful as not only have we no chilled food but my wife has a condition that requires constantly cooled medication so looks like we’ll have to buy a table-top as a back-up.
