MIELE KFN8452 SD Fridge freezer – FRIDGE RUNNING TOO COLD

Hi My Miele KFN 8452 SD is behaving strangely – fridge far too cold. Over last few weeks I’ve noticed things freezing in the fridge bit and adjusted thermostat accordingly. However my back is against the wall now as it’s set to max 9degrees – back of fridge is caked in frost and whole thing is well below freezing.
Today I have cleared vents at back and increased distance from wall, switched off “dynamic cooling” fan (although this could make worse as it will raise temp at top zone of fridge) and reset it by turning off and on. Thought I would defrost and clean it next, and have turned stat to zero.
I have noticed posts of similar faults directing to replace “NTC” part 7323301 (apparently ~£40).

What should be my course of action? ❓
Couple of other questions:
should I bother defrosting/cleaning or will it just freeze up again?
How likely is it to be this part (i.e. is it a wise bet for £40)?
Where should I buy the part?

Sadly there’s no tech info on Miele outside of Miele so we probably can’t offer too much assistance.

It sounds like a thermistor failure but TBH it’s hard to say with no info on it.

Like most Miele customers I reckon that you’re probably going to be held to ransom by Miele and have to pay them to come fix it. 🙁

Thanks for the steer – if it was a simple (and non-obvious in case it stopped miele fixing it later) bit to swap I’d spend that much on spec to avoid the ransom!

Living on the edge lol – at the moment switching it off regularly is keeping us limping along. Defrosting all the ice and keeping the area around the light area clear seems to have made slight improvement, but I’m reluctant to leave on overnight in case it freezes my beer.
Will investigate the costs and reflect on it this week.

hello, you’ve come on to this forum asking for help.
you obviously don’t have a clue as to your problem and it looks like you’re now at the mercy of miele, which attracts a premium.
i could help you, i contract to the company that manufactures miele refrigeration, liebherr.
i was trying to ascertain where you were based because if i couldn’t help you myself, i would probably know someone in your area.
we could repair your fridge a lot cheaper than it will cost you going back to the manufacturer.

I’m not sure how I made it obvious that I didn’t want help, doesn’t this post and my request suggest the opposite? Just in case there’s still uncertainty – I do want help.
