Miele KFN8997SE ed

Hello this is my first post, so I hope you can help me out.
I have a Miele KFN8997SE ed fridge freezer and started to only get down to -7.
Taken the back panel of freezer off and the evaporator is full of ice.
Is there a way to check what the problem is ie sensor or defrost heater element?
Any resistence values etc would be a great help as any info on Miele is hard to find!

first do a complete defrost and check drain is clear

check door seal for gaps and swtch on and try again

if it does it again within a short time then look for problems

Yes thats what I am doing now, Not been touched for ten years so we will see ha.
