ParticipantHi,
Just wondering if anyone can offer advice on my pesky fridge freezer please.
I bought this secondhand after moving into a new house and not having one for 6 months, I found this in the local rag and after being stood for a couple of months “surplus to requirements” in a garage due to a kitchen refit (yes I can hear the sighs but I don’t have much dosh…even less now!).
It was working perfectly for a couple of months and pleased to bits with it until a couple of days ago when I noticed after trying to dig into some ice cream and finding it was like concrete, then the following morning noticing the milk bottle wasn’t cold enough.
After several days the fridge was useless so turned it off as the compressor by that time would not switch off and was getting hot so thought I would try resetting it…it didn’t help and tried the same again twice but now neither the fridge or freezer section are cooling and the heat exchanger on the back is cold. The other thing I noticed after getting used to a very quiet appliance is the compressor was very slightly more “harsh” sounding.
Having been a service engineer in the past I’ve decided to inspect the control panel for bad joints, none found… and clean the edge connectors but still the same. I could test some of the sensors as you suggest but thought I would ask some Q’s before diving in too deep…I’m having trouble finding engineers willing to look at it and there has been lots of sucking air through teeth in various conversations.
I’m frightened to death of calling Miele but would love to have it working again. I understand this is a Liebherr device so easier to find parts? Thanks!
Regards, David

He’ll David, this sounds like a system fault.
That is, a fault with the compressor, refrigerant level or both.
It sounds like you need an engineer out. Not necessarily Miele!May 30, 2014 at 8:03 pm #414498Speakerman

Hi,
Thanks so much for the info, I have seen a similar thing years ago but thought it might be different with all the changes. I did move it from one side of the kitchen to the other and didn’t wait to plug it back in…wonder if I’ve caused it?
Thanks again!
