    Hi,

I have a ten year-old Miele Novotronic W980 that’s had light use. It has developed a problem in the timing of some of the cycles and I am presuming that this is a logic board fault – is this a viable repair?

If I run the machine at 40 degrees the LED timer tells me that the cycle will take 1 hour and 53 minutes. This it does. However, if I run the 95 degree or 60 degree programme the LED starts off at an indicated 1 hour and 53 minutes but within 10 minutes it is indicating just 40 minutes or so to go. The cycle completes in under an hour and the clothes are not properly clean, most obvious in the whites.

Sometimes switching the machine off for 5 minutes and then restarting the programme lets it complete the programme in the proper time. Sometimes not.

    Can I / should I repair this?

    Many thanks,

    Jake

    Dave,

Yes it heats, it just seems to skip part of the programme when set to 95 or 60 degrees. It completes the programme when set to 40 degrees. I just tried it on the 95 – within 3 minutes it was reading 1hr and 02 minutes. Switched it off, waited 5 minues, switched it back on and then it was reading 1 hr and 53 minutes again. It’s now completing the full programme (but it doesn’t always).

    Jake
