We have a Miele WT2670 washer/dryer which sometimes missed the spin cycle. It did it this weekend when we washed a heavy cotton bathmat. Are these machines designed to omit the spin cycle if it’s a particularly heavy load? (the bathmat is very heavy when wet).
Out of balance, probably. Variation in motor speed during the distribute phase can cause the spin to abort. This can be exacerbated by large single items, which are inclined to roll into a ball rather than spread out evenly around the drum.
