I have a fault with my Premier 300 in that when I put a large wash in the machine it does not seem to drain properly, this causes the spin not to reach full speed. I can see and hear the drum touching the water below it.
If I drain the water down by loosening the filter and letting it run into a tray it comes up to full spin speed.
I have taken the pipe from below the drum off and cleaned it, cleaned the outlet pipe and filter and even cleaned the drain which has improved the situation but it still is not like when new.
I have cheched the drain pump and it spins fast and free.
Inside the machine I have noticed a large plastic moulding connected to the drain pipe with the outlet pipe connected at the top. I can’t see the purpose of this moulding its almost like there is a lot of water held in it or a one way valve that is jammed open so allowing water to run back out of it.
Can anyone advise me what to check next as I hate to just change parts without diagnosing the fault after all it is a Miele and seems to be well engineered so more than likely its something simple.

Have you checked the drain-hose ? and the waste-plumbing it’s connected to?

Have you made sure the drain-hose actually has a high-point well above the machine’s high water-level?-this won’t stop it back-syphoning if the plumbing is blocked/restricted.

try hooking the discharge end straight over the sink and confirm that the pump is actually working!

everything you’ve said points to a restricted flow 💡 drain-hose kinked?

I am probably way off-beam, i’m not a professional….but till one comes along, you may as well ……. 😆

Sock on top of the eco-ball in the sump hose is always a good bet……. Got to be a restriction somewhere!

    Thanks for the comments.
I have taken this thing apart 3 times now so know that the pipes are not blocked. They seemed to have a layer of muddy stuff in them but I cleaned it out.
I have held the drain pipe and watched it pump water ok.
What is the purpose of the long plastic moulding in the outlet pipe? This is the only bit I havent managed to take apart or clean
I found the little plastic ball on the top of it but couldn’t see what it was for so cleaned the muck out below it and put it back.
I can see its all going to come apart for the 4th time during the Christmas holidays!

Re: Miele not draining with a full load

Manifold at the back acts as an air-break to prevent syphoning, it sometimes can get blocked with fluff off bathroom mats or throws etc and cause the problem described. It can be taken off & cleaned by flushing water through it. If you need to clean it out, make sure power is off & remove top, front & side panel. Now you can get access to all the drainage components easily.
