ParticipantThink this machine is from around 2005 and has been great. A coupe of years ago I had a similar fault to this and replaced the motor brushes. I repeated this today. I measured the resistance of motor brush connections 3 &4 at the motor and it showed open circuit before brush replacement and a a few Ohms afterwards. I thought this looked positive but unfortuately the machine still does the same thing. Start cycle off, lets in water, waits a while, rinse light flases, drains water, goes to anti-crease finish.
I have taken the top off and investigated the control board – I had anticipated finding an EL200 but the one in this machine is an EDPL122-A. There is a main fuse on the board but that is intact. I also wondered about checking the resistance of the motor connecitons at the plug end that connects into this board. The connection to the brushes is about 5 Ohmns but I am not getting any readings in the field (?) conections. Maybe I’m not on the right pins, but, I think I am going by the paperwork I found inside the lid.
I’ve had the front back off the machine and checked again at the motor connector. itsaroud 4 Ohmns at pins 3 & 4 for the main motor. Pins 5,6 & 7 look like they maybe windings of some kind and I get open circuit on any combination of these three pins – Should I be worried about that? Not sure what to try next … ???

Moderatorwhen you take the brush gear off its very easy to miss the field connections when putting it back

Thanks Dave you are right – somehow I missed the rear connections to the windings – It did look straight when i put it on. Next time I’ll meter it out as I know what to look for now. ~2.6 Ohmns across pin 5 and 7 for thye windings.

ParticipantHi
I have a similar fault to this. on what sounds like the same model with the same control PCB.
Machine correctly lets in water and starts wash. The drum turns (Possibly too slowly). After a couple of minutes the wash stops, the machine drains and proceeds to the flashing rinse light.
The wash stops earlier if there is a wash load in the machine. I am using an old bath towel.
I have replaced the motor brushes and am getting the ~2.5 ohms across the motor windings.
I am suspecting that the main control PCB may have a similar fault to the one fuse and relay fault on the EL200 board.I have access to a surface mount repair facility but with no circuit diagram am stuck.
If any one has any ideas as to what to look at next or as to if there is anybody who can test the PCB I would be grateful. We have replaced the machine but as it still looks great inside I would hate to throw it away.
Thanks

Moderatorthe el200 board was a reversing relay fault
is the motor turning both ways ?
