ParticipantHi,
I have a Miele Novotronic T7644C condenser drier that is about two years old.
Recently is has stopped drying clothes. It starts its cycle but then the red “clean filter” light comes on and the cycle ends.I have cleaned the door filters and emptied the water reservoir but this doesn’t seem to help.
The machine is warm and damp inside the drum when I open the door but it doesn’t seem to be doing a lot.
Occasionally the machine will run its cycle and dry the clothes but I don’t understand why the rest of the time it gets stuck.Any help or advice and ideas gratefully received.
Cheers

Hi Matey just check your instruction book you can adjust the sensititvity
of drying light or turn it off! Some need to be also set for water hardness
this alters the sensor for moisture
hope this helps BrianSeptember 9, 2010 at 5:57 am #329016Smudge102

Hmm, instruction book….
Sounds promising though if I can turn off the sensitivity – I thought it was a really good idea but it is trying to be too clever and now I need to outwit it somehow!Cheers for the advice, hopefully I’ll be able to find the instructions this weekend and sort it out before it does my head in!

Clean the condenser

ParticipantRight,
I have cleaned the condenser but to no avail.
I have downloaded an instruction manual and the instructions for changing the water conductivity refer to a “gentle” button – I don’t appear to have one on my machine!Any more help would be gratefully received before this all singing all dancing machine costs me an arm and a leg in engineer call out fees!
Cheers,

I figured out how this works to help others. The main board turns the heat on by sending 12V to the relay K1 mounted at the top of the rear panel inside. If the machine is not heating first check that 12V is getting to the coil of this relay. When the relay is turned on and the heater is working the heat is measured by a thermistor on the real panel. This thermistor, 2R30, is about 60k when the machine is cold and should reduce in value as it heats. If it is short circuit hten no heat. If it is open circuit you will blow F1. For safety there is a cut-out on this paneel, F1 should be a short circuit. If it is open circuit replace it. The exhaust temperature is measured by a sensor near the door. You need to remove the front panel to replace it. It measures about 15K cold and reduces as it warms. If all is OK but the there is no heat going to relay K1, remember that the machine senses moisture so you need to use the dry program that doesn’t sense moisture. if it still doesn’t start heating and there is a clunk every time the drum turns then the humidity sensor brushes are worn. Miele say that this will not stop the heating. Shame on them it certainly does! The processor does a check on these brushes at start-up.The clunk is a design feature to tell you when the brushes are worn. If you lift the brushes off the drum and place them a wet cloth, you can confirm that the machine will now heat after restarting it. If the lights all behave properly you can be pretty sure that the processor board is in good helath so don’t let a local “replace everything” merchant mislead you and chage you another £150. All the parts for this machine are expensive. It seems they have a minimum of about £55 for a part. Any repair almost pays for a new machine!

I have a machine with no power indications. I have checked the thermistor and it is about 120k when cold.Could this be causing me a problem with power to the machine. Also where is F1 located. thank you.
