Miele or Siemens

Hiya all,
Im in the process of planning a kitchen refit, and am going for all new appliances.

Im looking at the moment at washing machines and dishwashers. WIthin budget I have been looking at some lower-end Miele appliances. In particular the Miele W1613 washing machine and the Miele G1102SCWH slimline washer are the two that catch my eye. Im wondering – in terms of the washing machine, am I better off going for a similarly priced Siemens, which may possibly have a better spec? or should I stick with the Mieles?

A bit of background; there are just 2 of us. We would be using both machines every day, probably one cycle each. I’d really prefer not to go with a fullsize DW due to space restrictions. I cant think of much else that is important really, we’re moving up from a Hoover 1400 that I didnt have any problems with, but it IS extremely noisy. Id really appreciate a lower volume washing unit. Is there anything else I should bear in mind when choosing?

Finally, is it worth going for the W3204 for another £30 or so?

Hi

Miele have a good reputation and track record for producing top quality appliances, hence why washing machines start around the £700 mark. Guarantees can range from five years to ten depending on appliance purchased.

The real issues are the extremely high price of spare parts and the lack of knowledge available to the service sector unless you are a Miele service agent of course.

Siemens is an extremely good alternative 😉 in the other thread.

with don on it, for a slim line d/w defo go for a 5yr p&l warrantied siemens,

for w/m i prefer siemens with a 5yr p&l guarantee but all down to budget really. but thought u were after a washer dryer tho??

Hi gandh1, I was, but was advised against a washer dryer combo! Thinking about it we wouldnt use the dryer function that much, so we might leave this out for now and get one at a later date.
