ParticipantHello,
I smashed the inner window glass of my miele oven (H340 bp). Called miele spare parts and they ask for £370 for a new one!!!!
Any advice on how to get a cheaper one? saw some second hand miele oven for £60 (H809 delux and H316b), could i transfer the glass knowing both doors are 60 x 60cm?
am i posting this message in the right place?
thanks,
Polux

KeymasterHi polux,
I deleted the duplicate-ish 😉 post, but this will do for your query and I know someone’s looking at it for you. But, Meile are good solid machines, the downside is that spares can be a bit painful.

thank you so much for the prompt replies.
It seems to me afer looking at the piece again, that the price is a little excesive for just that surface glass. Maybe I got a quote for the 3 glass layers.polux

ParticipantNo, you didn’t …………… The machines across the Miele range are beautifully built, but if they go wrong – you pay!
Looks hopeful though…….

Broken glass should be covered if you have “Glass Cover” on your
Insurance policy. Building insurance if it is a “build in”, Household effects
if a “free standing”.

Sorry for the long wait for a reply, the Miele software I have is running very slowly ATM 🙁
Anyway, all three models have a completely different doors, so the glass is not interchangeable unfortunatly.
One thing I did note though, there are what appears to be two “inner” glass panels, the one described as “clean glass” looks as though it is seperate from the door, the other one is the “interior glass” which is attached to the door and is basically the inner window.
The latter is substancially cheaper than the one you describe (yes the price they quoted is correct), may be worth confirming the difference with them.
Hope that helps a bit, definitely try the insurance approach though as suggested.
Dave.
