Hi, I’ve noticed that on our 5872 Miele have used what looks a bit like Evo-stick as a sealant/locking agent wherever rubber pipes are connected to anything. After 7 years it is still flexible (vaguely!) but I’ve no idea what I should use to replace it when refitting pipes. (I am familiar with the use of silicone grease as a fitting aid, but that doesn’t set…) I suspect that many engineers won’t worry too much but I hate to leave anything in worse condition than I found it in! Does anyone have any idea what they would have used (or could suggest an alternative)? I’ve spent an hour on Google but the best I found was Loctite gasketing/sealant compound.
