you either blow the air into the dryer or blow it out
i think the miele blows it out causing a vacuum in the drum that suck the air in across the elements. in this case if the front or rear seals let air in it does not go through elements and blows trips
i presume you mean the stat in the element box? has been known to be caused when the drum is stationary and the element remains on and overheats. in some cases even the pcb had to be changed to an updated version that shuts the heater off during the drum reversal.
