miele t293 / t294

Cant remember which model (will clarify once pc anti virus has finished) it was, but is just not heating.

On timed dry it doesnt heat, on sensor dry it wont.

Have replaced rear ntc, and front ntc. Have looked a tri-relay pcb at rear, all relays seem to check out. have metered all cables from main pcb to relay pcb to heater/ntcs, no issue

ordered some replacements from RS comps but cant seem to desolder the ones already on it. :/ its like its a higher melting temperature?

Other than front pcb, is there anywhere else I should be looking (heater checks out on meter too) Can mieles pick up the vaguest of heater leakage to earth below a current spec (recently re wired) consumer unit?

not sure of model but my my experience of Miele dryers

have you checked relays for operation

you need to check low voltage relay coil voltages. if they are there but no heat the realys are at fault

also it wont heat without wet clothes in it. I take lid off and put a damp cloth over the brush gear

I have found if the TOC on the back is ok, most of the time it’s the relay PCB itself. Back top right.

yeh we thought same thing, cust didnt want to spend out on the relay pcb, and we were hesistant as all 3 relays seemed to have same resistance values across the coils, didnt realise it was voltage that needed to be checked tho, anyway, we attempted to replace them but we couldnt get them to desolder with a std soldering iron!

also, we were testin on the timed dry setting, is it necessary to have wet clothes in it for timed stting too ?

PS cust has disposed of this and replaced with an indesit vented, so further repair impossible (*the doorknob wouldnt even offer to give us the miele to play with, even though it had a brand new ntc on rear) but im stillinterested for future reference

It’s easy to meter ther element and TOC from their plug at the heater relay. Assuming you have resistance, a check for correct supply at the relay will tell you the relayPCB is required. I don’t bother trying to repair the things, just replace the PCB .

when it comes to the moisture sensor miele’s use the brush gear to pick up the clothes.
i get a piece of kitcen roll or a small cloth. wet it, but not dripping, and carefully place it on the brush gear touching both brushes. that way machine thinks its full of wet clothes
