Miele T294C dryer No Heat

Heater/stat and thermistor check out ok
When cotton cycle selected machine operates for about a minute(no heat+ no live to stat/heater) then stops with intermittent beep.
If delicate/cool cycle selected machine operates continuously(still no heat,this time with live to both tags on stat!)
When first inspected there was heavy condensation on inside of heater back cover.Suspect machine has sensed too much condensation and aborted?
Suggestions please..

Machine will only run with something damp inside the drum! otherwise will only run for a few seconds then stop and bleep
things to check heater relay,the two carbons ontop of drum and the lower base fan is running? hope this helps? Brian
