I have had this tumble dryer for almost 8 years, I have four children and it has been used a great deal (almost every day) but I do think it’s a great dryer and has only needed a replacement thermostat so far (which I replaced myself).

Now, it’s tripping the RCD in our house and the fault has been diagnosed by a (non-miele) engineer as being with the heater.

The replacement part is £200. He showed me how to fit it myself and I’m confident I could do so but I can’t decide whether to fix or replace.

The price of a similar replacement seems to be about £750 (mine cost £489 8 years ago).

    Any advice?

    Thanks.

    Hi
IF the machine is still in good working order apart from heater. it would be cheaper to replace heater than buying a new Miele TD.
Miele are built to last. I have worked on Miele appliances that are 20 years plus, and still worth repairing.

Received part and fixed today, really happy. Very difficult to gain access to control panel but worth it imho.
