Hi
Cannot confirm price as not in office, but sounds about right. Considering its an £1,900 appliance, the priceof part sounds reasonable to me. If you use any authorised Miele agent Im sure the price would be the same as parts are sourced directly from Miele.Greg

Yep, that sounds about right to me.
Bear in mind that Miele products fail far less than most others so the lifetime cost of the appliance is far less also 😉
As Gegsy says, if the price quoted is from a Miele agent or direct, it won’t be any cheaper anywhere else.

I can get them from Maddocks usually for £48.00 but they are out of stock at the moment, These contactors are nothing special most contactors for other uses are arond £40-£50.00 so I do not agree that £75.00 is reasonable.

ParticipantIf you’ve got the time and the patience, almost all relays (contactors?) are available through Radio Spares. The Bosch washer/Whirlpool dishwasher heater relay is available for c.£8 as a for instance. The other thing to bear in mind is “What does the relay do?”. Is it single pole or double? What rating does it have? A bit of thought and some lateral thinking can solve a lot of these at a fraction of manufacturers prices.
Something to have a think about……..

well worth sourcing through rs, or any similar electronic outlets. we used to do this when i worked for a miele agency, though more because miele were always no stock of the things

miele spares are expensive but then miele are the top end manufacturer and if you can afford the product then you can afford to pay what it costs to fix it. i never have a problem with customers not wanting to pay the price for fixing their miele. on the whole miele customers dont penny pinch., they just want th job done and will even pay the extra to get the spares on overnight so they can be back in action within 24 hrs. 🙂

Thanks for all your reply’s I am allready looking at R.S but there range seems to have been cut down in recent years.
And yes the machine is an expensive appliance but that does not mean that the parts if nothing special should demand rip off prices it is not even manufactured by Meile .
Thanks again everyone.February 3, 2005 at 7:58 am #124626roly16
