Miele T8164 WP tumble dryer

Set it on a program press start after a minute the display shows 26 minutes. Open the door and it goes back to the original time then after one minute 26 minutes in display. This happens on all programs except time programs.
Anyone any ideas? the dryer is about 6 years old.

have you check damp sensor brushes etc

my trick on miele

if you want to run the machine you will find that unless there are wet clothes in it thing wont work properly. take the lid off, wet a piece of kitchen roll (not dripping) and place it across the brush gear to simulate wet washing

Thanks Dave. Took the lid off, the brush gear is damaged. The 2 brushes are missing.
