Hi, I bought an ex-display Miele TBK640 Dryer today, set it up and it looks like it’s in a store demonstration mode. Nothing’s in the manual or on the Miele website about taking it out of the mode and the store don’t know. The dryer won’t do anything except flash all the lights…

    Any idea’s?

cant download the owners manual without more info but sounds more like a child lock demo would prob work without heat

Re: Miele tkb640 tumble dryer in demonstration mode?

Hi Dave, thanks. It doesn’t seem to be a child lock as you say, as it displays all the lights and options in turn in rotation, including the interior lights. I’m waiting for Miele UK to be available, as the dealer doesn’t know. There’s no references to this mode in the manual and I can’t set any other changeable option, won’t do anything but show off!! I’ll post their advice here.

I think, as it is an ex-display machine, that it was set to a demo mode in the shop.

Re: Miele tkb640 tumble dryer in demo mode

Have heard from Miele here’s the remedy:

    Demonstration mode activation/deactivation
Note: after it is begun the accessing procedure must be completed within 10s

Press and hold the start/stop button
      Switch on the machine
As soon as start/stop LED is lit constantly, after approx 5s, release the start/stop button
Immediately press and hold the start/stop button again for approx 3s until the start/stop LED switches off

And presumably the same procedure should you want to switch demo mode back on!

    Hope that helps someone.

    Alastair
