Miele Upright red S*** vacuum cleaner hose

Hi Everyone

The hose on my red Miele upright vacuum cleaner has split near the handle. Miele want a massive £98 plus carriage for the replacment part. So far i have duct taped the hose to the cleaner is still usable.
Does anyone know where i can source a cheaper non gen part, or has anyone repaired this part? At £98 i cant warrant spending that on a 5 year old cleaner.

If im not able to get this part cheaper, what cleaners do people recommend? I need something with a motorized (not air driven) brush as i have two dogs and work in an outdoor environment, so it needs to be sturdy and well made as its used daily. I did look at the very cheap Vax and AEG cleaners in a local electrical warehouse, but they feel so flimsy and cheap, that i dont think they would last past a year, and nearly £500 for a Dyson – you gotta be kidding, its just a motor and some moulded plastic. Whats happened to Electrolux, do they not make vacuum cleaners anymore?

Post up the Miele model number and a picture of where it is split as I may be able to suggest something 😉

The best upright and cylinder cleaners are the Sebo machines, made in Germany, five year warranties and are used by some hospital trusts.

It’s an S7260 and the hose is splitting spirally near the handle. Can’t upload photos as I keep getting a message saying that the file is too big.

There are loads of free image resizing apps out there for phone, tablet or PC. Dead easy to use. 😉

Sebo for the win. Get an X series cleaner like an X4 or X5 and you will have something that will outlast most other upright cleaners.

Miele parts are seriously overpriced!
